Among the musical artists performing at festivities surrounding the 2007 NHL All-Star Celebration, Jan. 20-24, was Grammy-nominated rock and soul band Robert Randolph & The Family Band, who performed at Gilley's in downtown Dallas on Sunday the 21st.

Working for Executive Producer Cary Glotzer of Tupelo-Honey Productions, CSP Mobile’s Unit 6 audio truck recorded the show for later edit. Over the next 48 hrs Lance Vardis, audio engineer, posted the audio in “Studio W” (a W Dallas - Victory Hotel room set up as an A/V posting suite), married it to the video, and readied it for air.

Then on game day of the 55th NHL All-Star Classic, Jan. 24th, Robert Randolph performed a 90-minute concert outside the American Airlines Center. This performance, also recorded by CSP Mobile, provided the producers of the broadcast with two different versions of the band's current hit single, "Thrill of It" from its new album, Colorblind (Warner Bros. Records). Lance Vardis, Lloyd Jacobson (A-2), Andrew MacVane (EIC), and crew had 45 minutes to post the song for client review. After the band and the producers reviewed the two recordings, the decision was made to broadcast the outdoor concert performance.

As the show opened, the piece hit the air at the top of the broadcast for 3 minutes over highlights and credits.
