Our History

1988: CSP was established as a division of Maine Radio and Television which owned and operated WCSH-TV located in Portland, Maine. WCSH’s call letters – CSH – were a reference to the company’s original headquarters located in Portland’s Congress Square Hotel. In keeping with its Portland, Maine heritage, CSP is an acronym for Congress Square Productions.

1999: WCSH-TV was sold leaving CSP as a separate operating entity.

2003: CSP moved its operations to a new 10,000 square foot facility located on four acres in Saco, Maine.

2010: EKTJ, LLC acquired majority control of CSP and helped launch the company into the world of high-definition broadcasting.

2012: Present: CSP currently provides state-of-the-art HD production units to CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, CBS College Sports, NBC Sports and ESPN. CSP’s most recent HD unit was put in service in November 2012 with another newly constructed HD unit scheduled to roll out in May 2026.

CSP maintains a five bay, 10,000 square foot maintenance facility situated on four acres of land in Saco, Maine. The site has ample room and the approvals in place to expand the facility to accommodate the company’s future growth plans.
